‘Twas the Season of Lent- A Giveaway!

Written by Elizabeth Christie

January 9, 2024

EDIT! The Giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Hallie Spence!

I have mentioned before how much my children enjoy Glenys Nellist’s books and it’s time to get one of these fabulous titles into your hands. This giveaway is sponsored by the publisher, ZonderKidz, and is open to entrants living in the USA with a physical street address (not PO Box). We have a copy of ‘Twas The Season of Lent for one reader. All you need to do it comment here and you’ll be entered to win. (My very fancy random generator, a.k.a. my kids writing your names, dropping them in a bowl, dumping them on the floor, crumbling a dog biscuit among it all, and pulling the paper that my dog’s nose touches first in his quest for a cookie, will be working Monday night. Winner announced next Tuesday, January 16!)

This is a collection that I would be happy to read through in one sitting, but like a chocolate layer cake, I know that taking my time to savor each poem, referring to the Scripture references, and reflecting is even better.

Rise: A Child’s Guide To Eastertide

Laura Alary has given us a new comfort read in Rise: A Child’s Guide To Eastertide. In this book, she masterfully combines gentle phrases with things to ponder, wrapped in familiar concepts that help us reimagine what it means to live as Easter people.
