Lent and Easter

Helping Children Enter the Season of Lent: Using the Book Make Room

Lent can be a hard season for children. Traditionally, it is heavy with themes of death and self-denial. Make Room offers a more positive view of Lent as a special time for creating a welcoming space for God.

About the Webinar

Lent can be a hard season for children. Traditionally, it is heavy with themes of death and self-denial. Make Room offers a more positive view of Lent as a special time for creating a welcoming space for God. Simple and practical acts like cleaning a room, making bread and soup, and inviting a neighbor for supper become acts of justice and kindness, part of a life of following Christ. In this webinar, Laura Alary will describe how this book took shape, and how it might be used at home and in church to help children enter into the season of Lent in a way that is transformative and life-giving.
